Our Process

OUR TEXTILES

Cherry Cherry Bim’s Fabric Collection is designed in our studio and block printed in our workshop in Western Australia, bringing with it all of the glorious character that comes from textiles anchored in the age-old tradition of block printing.

Every step of the way the maker’s mark is reflected.

Our studio is where our journey begins. It is where we conceive of and give life to our beautiful artisan fabrics.

Each of our designs start out as a hand drawn sketch created in our studio before being digitally refined and transformed into our distinctive blocks manufactured in-house.

We work within our studio to create a colour palette that is uniquely our own, using water based eco-friendly Australian made inks. Our designs are then hand applied onto high quality linen.

In block printing, each colour is applied individually – with its own specific block, layer by layer, step by step, one after the other. Through patience, care and a total immersion in the process the fabric transforms under the printmaker’s skillful hand.

Cherry Cherry Bim is a print-to-order textile line, hand printed on only the finest Belgian linen.

Within our fabric range is a number of nature inspired designs. Our collection is continually evolving with new textures and patterns regularly added to work alongside the existing family of prints and inspire a modern approach to layered interiors.

OUR CERAMICS

Introduced in early 2022 our ceramics range is an ode to artisan made functional ceramic homewares, taking inspiration from traditional hand painted ceramics, viewed through a modern eye.

As with our fabrics, our ceramics are created with a fine attention to detail without losing the artisan made feel. From their origins as slip cast earthenware, through to their hand painted finish, each of the pieces we create are individual, with no two pieces exactly the same, making each one bespoke and special.

Our ceramics are slip cast in Perth, Western Australia using Australian made underglazes to hand paint each design.

BEAUTIFUL COLLABORATIONS

Because we print and make everything in our workshop and all of our fabrics are print to order, customising a bespoke piece is easy.

We love working with interior designers and architects to create custom fabrics in colours and designs to suit their plans and concepts.

Whilst our palette is often vibrant and bright we also create colours to work alongside contemporary or antique pieces to suit specific interior designs, collaborating with clients to mix custom colours for personal projects.
